Watch Out For Zombies!!

The last weekend of April has come and gone. I can't believe how quickly the year has gone so far! We had an interesting weekend. Friday night we headed over to the Clipper's coach's house in Watkins since Noah had to sign his baseball contract. What a house! I think I should have gone into the construction business! They asked us if we wanted a beer, and said they had Coors in the keg. So here I am picturing the college keg, sitting in a garbage can of ice. But oh no, they have a gorgeous bar downstairs, fully equipped with it's own tap. And it's own TV, of course, because it would be such a hassle to turn your head from the bar to see the 60+ inch TV right behind you! Crazy.

We got up early Saturday morning to get the dock in. It's a pretty old dock, so it's not the sturdiest, but not too bad. It's nice to be able to cast out a bit further now. Noah had practice in the afternoon, and then we headed to St. Cloud for the Zombie Shoot. His cousin Ryan was selling his stuff there, so it was good to see him and his brother Steve. This was the craziest thing I've seen in my life. Guys everywhere in all their shooting gear with guns bigger than me. I think about 99% of them must be missing some brain cells! It was neat to see though, and made me realize how many different types of people there are in this world! Here's an article about the event from the SC Times -- Zombie Shoot

Sunday was supposed to be Noah's first game, but it was postponed because of the rain. I was so excited to see him play for his new team, but I guess I'll have to wait til next Sunday! We had a relaxing day, and got some stuff done around the house.

That was our weekend in a nut-shell...hopefully the weather will warm up this week as I'd like to start running more. Stay tuned for more exciting blogs! :)

Happy Earth Day/Happy Birthday Donna!

Just a quick note to say HAPPY EARTH DAY TO ALL!

On a sadder note, it is also my dear friend Donna's Birthday. She took her life on February 7th, 2007, but will never be forgotten. Ang Novak said it best, "Donna had a gift very rare to most humans. She had a genuine care for people. No matter if she knew them or not, she was always sticking up for someone, or even something. Her hardships and triumphs in her life were extraordinary. She touched the heart of every single person she met, and had an unforgettable soft smile. She was extremely beautiful both inside and out."
Love you D!!

The weather looks to be beautiful, so spend Earth Day outside enjoying what our Mother Earth gave us!!

A Whole New Lo!

Most would say that 94% would be classified as an A. Well, that's where I am...94%. A week ago I would say I was a failing 30%. ICK! I think the mono has pretty much subsided, and my mouth is feeling pretty good. Today was the first day I didn't take anything for pain! YAY ME!

We had a little gathering here Saturday night. I was worried about the rain but it held off and only sprinkled for 15 minutes or so. We grilled some good food, and I finally got to eat some chips! I had lost 2 lbs since my wisdom teeth came out, but I'm sure I gained all that back just from potato chips! MMMmm. I would post some pictures from the night, but unfortunately my camera decided to stop working. It worked fine Saturday night and we took maybe 10 pictures. When we got up in the morning I took it off the kitchen counter and saw the screen had some condensation on it. It turns on, but doesn't go past the start-up cybershot screen. It also does not turn off unless you take the batteries out. I keep trying it every few hours in case something changes, but it looks like there will be a new camera purchase in the future. I'm actually surprised that camera lasted as long as it did. Two weeks after I got it, Noah had it in his swim trunks pocket and unknowingly took it for a little swim. It was submerged in water for 10 mintues before it was discovered. We dried it out and viola! It also took a tumble down a cliff at the north shore during our honeymoon. Good Sony Cybershots can take just about anything, and I'm sure I'll stick with them.

Other than that not much new around here. We just signed up for the TC-1 mile which is May 7th. I hope my knee doesn't hate me too much! Should be fun to get out and do something different. Oh by the way keep an eye out for woodticks. I had one on me yesterday, and found one on Harry today. Yucky! Cold and windy today but I see a high of 83 Thursday! CAN'T WAIT!!!

I Lost a Little Wisdom Today

Here I sit with a mouthful of gauze! I got 3 of my wisdom teeth out this morning, and I'm still pretty numb, so no pain thus far! The last thing I remember is talking to the nurse about the Twins...then BAM, I'm laying on some little bed with a blanket on and a puffy face. Noah has been taking good care of me, he just left for Good Friday mass, which I feel bad for missing, but I think He understands :) I hope to feel good enough Sunday to partake in the Easter celebration! I've slurped some Jello down, and attempted a chocolate pudding cup, but the pudding ended up mostly around my face and chin!

On a brighter note, Noah and I enjoyed our first sunset on the deck last night. I even had a beer! That's rare these days. Now that the water is so open, we are really enjoying all the ducks! There is also a little beaver that swims by frequently. I love all of the critters around here, not to mention the sky-full of stars we get to see every night! Here are a few pictures I took yesterday, and one Noah took of me attempting to eat Jello this afternoon!

First Blog!

Well I caved into the hype and decided to start my own blog. Hopefully I will be able to keep it updated, unlike my sister ;)

Noah and I love our new house...so does Harry! It's so nice to be able to relax and look out the huge window overlooking the lake in the back. We are so excited for summer to arrive so we can take full advantage of the lake and dock! I'm sure we will spend many nights fishing, grilling, and enjoying some yard games of course! Not to mention having bonfires down by the lake. I can't wait!

I think the thing we love the most is being out of busy St. Cloud. While we enjoyed living there during the college years, we are getting too old for that craziness! I never thought I'd live in a town with only one stoplight, but so far so good! Here are some pictures of the house and lake--

We had our first game of Polish Horseshoes last night...Noah won the tie-breaker, but I blame my cold hands! I should have won! We are amazed at how quickly the ice is going out. We have about 30 feet of open water from our shoreline today. Harry took a little dip last night by accident...his back legs slipped from the bank and into the cold water! He was a little surprised but I think he liked it :) I'm excited to throw balls for him so he can leap off the dock.

Well that's enough for today, I hope to keep this updated as much as I can, so stop on by anytime!
